Crews from neighboring states are helping California fight the Los Angeles area fires, and officials say regulations are not holding them up.

California and Oregon officials denied that fire trucks from Oregon were substantially delayed by California safety checks while rushing to fight the fires.

KATU News has been made aware of a post on a social media site claiming that the 60 fire engines from Oregon would not be allowed in California.

The teams include 70 firefighters and 30 water trucks. They will join the 300 Oregon firefighters already sent to California this week.

Another six strike teams of water tenders are on their way from Oregon to Southern California to help battle the devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
