The war began when Hamas-led militants blew holes in the border fence and stormed into southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. They killed some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducted around 250. Some 100 hostages are still inside Gaza, about a third of whom are believed to be dead.

In Gaza City, an Israeli airstrike on a house in Sabra neighbourhood killed Mr Wael Al-Khour, an official at the Welfare Ministry, and seven other members of his family, including his wife and children, on Nov 10, medics and relatives said.

Israel launched deadly strikes on Gaza and Lebanon Sunday, rescuers and authorities said, ahead of a US deadline for improved aid delivery to the Palestinian territory.
