JBL's upcoming flagship noise-canceling headphones include a wireless audio transceiver with an integrated LCD for use with inflight entertainment systems that's also a remote control.

Keeping its annual tradition of announcing a literal ton of audio products at CES, JBL has loads of new devices for 2025. Amongst the earbuds and speakers, the company is debuting a set of premium over-ear headphones with an interesting feature.

JBL makes some of the most interesting headphones around, and the newly announced JBL Tour One M3 have a very interesting component. JBL calls it the SMART Tx, and it's a little wireless transmitter that makes it easy to stream to your headphones from pretty much any audio source, and to share that audio with others, too.

Some of JBL’s wireless earbuds (such as the Tour Pro 3) come with a smart charging case which includes similar functionality, but this is the first time it has produced a stand-alone transmitter for a pair of its wireless over-ear headphones.

JBL Smart Tx is a compact transmitter that connects directly to USB-C or analogue sources, such as inflight entertainment, TVs, or gaming devices.

JBL has revamped most of it wireless earbuds for 2025, and its flagship headphones now come with an unusual accessory.
