Some light snow is moving through NYC and the surrounding New York and New Jersey area today, just in time for Christmas Eve.

In the tri-state, some will get a White Christmas and some will fall just short. Christmas Eve’s morning snow totaled near an inch in many places near the coast with higher totals – between 2 and 3 inches – for northwest New Jersey into the Catskills and Hudson Valley.

United States stock markets will close early on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and will remain closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25 for Christmas. The Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange will both close at 1 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve.

Traders will get some time off from the stock market on Christmas Day, while equity index futures and the trading of metals and energy futures on Comex and the New York Mercantile Exchange will also be closed.
