Two people have died in an apparent murder-suicide in Decatur on September 6. According to the Decatur Police Department, the incident happened around 12:07 p.m. after officers conducted a well-being check at a home on 5th Avenue SW.

The Decatur Police Department has identified two people found dead in a home at the beginning of September. Police say preliminary autopsy results indicate 44-year-old Jonathan Wayne Dawes shot his wife, 60-year-old Stephanie Miller Tribble, and then shot himself.
