Shortly after the news of Gotti’s death was made public, his biggest rival, 50 Cent, decided to make light of the situation.

The co-founder of Murder Inc. worked with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Ja Rule, Jay-Z and DMX.

Mr. Gotti — born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr. — began his career as DJ Irv, mixing songs in the basement of his family house in the Queens borough of New York and spinning records at a public park.
