Minnesota Vikings superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson didn't hold back after a blowout win over the Washington Commanders.

The 31-0 win over the Commanders will only do so much for the curriculum vitae of the 5-8 Vikings, but it provided a dose of relief for the team and its weary fanbase.

Instead, they lost and now sit at 6-6-1 and way down the pecking order in the NFC. The playoffs might not be in the cards for the team, but they still ahve to finish out the season. And that means hosting the Minnesota Vikings in Week 15 of the season.

The Vikings’ starting QB version of musical chairs will land back with J.J. McCarthy in Week 14. McCarthy has cleared concussion protocol and will return to the starting lineup Sunday against the visiting Commanders.

After a hard-fought encounter, it was the Lions who prevailed, 44-30. It was a tough loss for Dallas, which saw its three-game winning streak snapped. Dak Prescott did all he could for the Cowboys, finishing with 31-of-46 completed passes for 376 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. It was not enough to lead his team to victory.

Christian Mahogany had the first opportunity to fill the role before breaking his leg last month. Against Dallas, the Lions rotated 27-year-old Trystan Colon and fifth-round pick Miles Frazier into the game and they had mixed results.

The Dallas Cowboys suffered a setback to kick off Week 14, falling to the Detroit Lions. The loss put the team's NFL playoff hopes on thin ice, as they take a step back in the NFC standings.

Last week in Seattle, the Vikings were shut out for the first time since November 11, 2007, when they lost at Green Bay, 34-0. (The next most recent goose egg happened at the Superdome in 1991, when the Vikings lost to the Saints by the same score from six days ago: 26-0.)

The entire day proved to be a huge success for the NFL, as the earliest game on Thanksgiving, which featured the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, drew 47.7 million viewers. That game technically held the record for a brief period until Chiefs-Cowboys obliterated it.

J.J. McCarthy had his most complete game of the season, completing 16 of 23 passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns. That makes him the first Vikings quarterback age 22 or younger to throw three touchdowns in a game since Tommy Kramer in 1977 (Week 12 vs San Francisco).
