President Donald Trump welcomed Micheál Martin, the prime minister of Ireland, to Washington on Wednesday for an annual trip ahead of St. Patrick’s Day. Much of the agenda is expected to be festive, including a luncheon on Capitol Hill and reception at the White House.

O’Donnell explained that she moved to Ireland on January 15, and is “in the process” of getting her Irish citizenship as she has Irish grandparents. “It’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming. And I’m very grateful,” she also said.

Rosie O'Donnell has left the U.S. for Ireland because of President Trump. She doesn't plan to return until 'it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there, in America.'
