Sources say a refreshed version of the Ram TRX performance off-road pickup packing a supercharged Hemi V8 with 700+ horsepower is coming as soon as next year.

Last year, Ram replaced its outrageous, Ford F-150 Raptor-fighting TRX 1500 with a more subdued six-cylinder Baja-style truck called the RHO. There's plenty to love about the Hurricane-powered "Rhino," but many Ram fans could not help but miss the big supercharged V-8 in the TRX. Fortunately, they may not be missing the TRX for long.

A report out of the United States is adamant the V8 Hemi is making a comeback to Ram pick-ups after it was dropped in 2024. The Ram 1500 TRX is due to return with V8 power as soon as next year, according to an enthusiast site based in North America.

There are persistent reports the Ram 1500 TRX is on the way back in 2026, and it could return with an even more powerful V8 engine.

The report doesn't specify which engine the rumored TRX would receive, whether it's a retuned version of the last truck's 717-horsepower V-8 or the more powerful 797-hp "Redeye" v

The TRX nameplate could reappear next year as a new V-8-powered performance truck, with output possibly rising above 702 hp.

With former CEO Carlos Tavares out at Stellantis, the V8 could find its way back into Ram's half-ton truck lineup.
