Knox County School Board chair Betsy Henderson is responding to backlash after she went to Nashville to voice her support for school vouchers before lawmakers passed the legislation.

Kentucky districts were told to expect cuts to their budgets because of a state funding shortfall of more than $40 million. Gov. Beshear authorized $14 million Thursday to help cover it.

One bill would allow some Jefferson County cities to form their own school districts, while another bill would double the size of JCPS' school board.
