The return of 'Yellowstone' on Sunday delivered the show's biggest premiere night audience ever, Paramount said on Tuesday.

According to projected numbers from VideoAmp – as reported by Variety – the Season 5 Part 2 episode was watched by 16.4 million viewers. The outlet adds that “the initial data includes CBS and eight cable networks that showed both the Yellowstone premiere and encores of it.”

Created by Taylor Sheridan and led by Kevin Costner, Yellowstone tells the story of the Dutton family, who own the largest cattle ranch that borders the Broken Rock Indian reservation and Yellowstone National Park.
