Baltimore County (/ ˈbɔːltɪmɔːr / BAWL-tim-or, locally: / bɔːldəˈmɔːr / bawl-da-MOR or / ˈbɔːlmər / BAWL-mər[1]) is the third-most populous county in the U.S. state of Maryland. The county is part of the Central Maryland region of the state. Baltimore County partly surrounds but does not include the independent city of Baltimore.

With easy access to major highways like I-95 and I-83, getting around is a breeze. The county has a rich history too, with spots like the Hampton National Historic Site.

Baltimore County is located in central Maryland, borders Pennsylvania on the north and encircles Baltimore City on the south like a horseshoe. Most (about 80%) of the county is located in the piedmont plateau with gently rolling hills.
